Harkening back to a time when a “weekend in the country” was part of affluent society’s routine, an elite new weekend charity antique show is being launched at the spectacular Greenbrier Resort in the foothills of the Allegheny mountains of eastern West Virginia October 28 – 31, 2010. The Greenbrier Annual Antique Show, hosted by Carleton Varney, The Greenbrier’s Interior Designer & Curator, will feature 40 prominent exhibitors.
This National Historic Landmark, where classic architecture, exquisite interior design, carefully sculpted landscape, impeccable service and outstanding amenities have greeted distinguished guests from around the world since 1778, is the perfect setting for an antique show of this caliber. As part of Antiques and Decorating Week at the Greenbrier the show is certain to become a fixture not just for the resort’s 700+ guest suites and rooms and the 200 multi-million dollar private homes owned by Greenbrier Sporting Club members, but for the affluent population of the Greenbrier Valley and nearby Lewisburg, designated one of America’s Dozen Distinctive Destinations, by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
