This unique Ceramic Design program was established in 1993. Shortly thereafter a collaboration with the Cesky Porcelain company in Dubi, Czech Republic was formed. Cesky built their ceramic studio and in 2000 completed reconstruction of a former porcelain factory where the North-Bohemian branch of CD is now located. CD has trained and educated student designers of china and hard stoneware in new technologies through their cooperation with industrial and research companies including the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. CD's gallery exhibition program works with top professional institutions including the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the Design Center of the Czech Republic, and the National Technical Museum.
